The DJs pumped out groovy tunes and the spectators enjoyed the great vibe, the bar, the food and the coffee while the top two teams from each group progressed to the quarter finals. As the pace picked up, the results went like this:

My Little Ponies 4 Yarra Athletico 2
Magnificent Seven 5 Malipranka 1
Brewski 2 The Bongs 1

The weather turned wet, the floodlights went on and the crowd sheltered in the warm marquee, doing a grand job of raising funds over the bar......and supporting some great soccer that then went like this:

Semi Finals
Brewski 2 Atherton Allies 2 (aet Brewski won 2-0 on pens)
My Little Ponies 3 Magnificent Seven 4

The tension rose as co-organisers Paraic and Jon faced off in the final on a slippy surface, but helped to produce a stunningly fitting end to the day and a final that had it all... a last minute equalizer, extra time and penalties..... final score:

Brewski 2 Magnificent Seven 2 (aet Magnificent Seven won 3-2 on pens)

Congratulations to the Magnificent Seven who won tickets to see Melbourne Victory, the Etiko Trophy, medals and a slab of Coopers.

A close second were Brewski who took home a Jaspers hamper and a slab of Coopers.
Congratulations to Sam who, as best on pitch in the final, received a $100 Etiko Sports voucher, and all teams who reached the quarters who won a Football Federation Victoria soccer ball.

Early indications are that around $2200 was raised towards Happy FootballCambodia bringing a team over to Melbourne for the Homeless World Cup in December and word is that the next Fair Play will be held the weekend before the big tournament on Sat Nov 29.

A massive thank you to all the organisers and volunteers on the day including Jon, Paraic, Sokrin, Boris, Jeremy, Gaye, Nicky, Matt, Bill, Peta, Julz.

And a huge thank you to Nick @ Etiko, Ary at Coopers, Jen at Jaspers, Peter and the refs from FusalOz, Melbourne Victory, Football Federation Victoria, City of Yarra, Charlie and Kate from Helter Shelters, Jeff at Clifton Tennis Club, BBQ Temptations for the food, all of the DJs and all of the volunteers who helped on the day.

No one made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.
